Mayor of Sierra Madre John Harabedian ’00 Launches Bid
Loyola alum John Harabedian ’00, who has served as a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, a state commissioner and currently serves as the Mayor of the City of Sierra Madre, announced his candidacy for LA County Supervisor (District 5) earlier this month.
Harabedian was born and raised in Sierra Madre and attended St. Rita Elementary School before going to Loyola High. He later matriculated to Yale University for his BA and attended Oxford University (M.Sc.) and Stanford Law School (J.D.).
He was elected to the City Council in 2012 and is now serving as Mayor of Sierra Madre for the second time. The town is located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley and in close proximity to the cities of Pasadena, Altadena and Arcadia.
