Anthony “Tony” Williams ’69, arguably one of the most successful and popular mayors in United States history, was featured on The Oath with Chuck Rosenberg, MSNBC’s newest original podcast. A transcript of the interview can be viewed here.

A 1969 Loyola graduate, Williams has held a number of positions in his career on the East Coast, including one as Chief Financial Officer for the District of Columbia. He went on to serve two terms as mayor (1999-2007). Williams is credited for “leading Washington, D.C. from the depths of overwhelming deficits and entrenched mismanagement to the heights of financial stability and civic success.”
