With an alumni base that is more than 16,000 strong, Loyola Cubs from far and wide have had many notable accomplishments and continue to share some exciting news. Read below for some fun info about our alums.
Landoch Triplets Featured by Santa Clara University
Recent graduates and Santa Clara freshmen Sam, Seth and Shawn Landoch ’20 were spotlighted in an article and video series by the university:
Garrett Cooper ’09 Shines for Miami Marlins
The Loyola Baseball alum and standout Marlins first baseman helped his team reach the MLB playoffs for the first time since 2003. They would go on to advance to the 2020 National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves in early October.

More Cubs on the Front Line
- Caleb Brown ’09, who works for McCormick Ambulance with an end goal of becoming a firefighter, is in the pre-investigative background process with Los Angeles City Fire Department. With McCormick, he responds to all 9-1-1 calls with the LA County Fire Department.
- Jake Perfitt ’19 has been working at the City of Los Angeles’ COVID-19 testing sites, including Dodger Stadium where he was promoted to managing a portion of the line control.
- Dr. Nestor Rodriguez ’98 moderated a panel discussion during the Wisconsin Leadership Summit, which focused on the topic of self-care, health and well-being.
Cubs Launch #YVYM (Your Vote, Your Moment) Campaign
Bryson Rouzan-Thomas ’11 and Jordan Ferguson ’13, Cubs and founders of the #YVYM (Your Vote, Your Moment) campaign, recently had their work highlighted by ABC7 (watch here). The campaign, which provides a free toolkit, encourages people to vote and aims to help those in local communities “better understand the voting process, both nationally and locally.”
Jon Vilicich ’11 Moves Abroad with A.P. Møller Maersk
Jon Vilicich ’11 made the move to Denmark to join his company’s global headquarters in Copenhagen. After previously working in New Jersey at A.P. Møller Maersk’s US headquarters, Vilicich is thrilled to be working for “a global company with an International Trade/Global Shipping business model that touches nearly every person across the world.” He encourages Cubs to reach out and pursue career opportunities abroad.
Loyola Ranks No. 2 in SoCal with Most Active NFL Players
With the New England Patriots’ addition of alum Myles Bryant ’16 to their roster, Loyola now ranks No. 2 among high schools in Southern California with four graduates on NFL rosters this season.
San Diego Alumni Speak to Current Cubs at Virtual College Tour
On October 12th, current Loyola sophomores had the opportunity to hear from Jack Love ’18, Cole Paquin ’19 and others attending universities in San Diego on a panel during a virtual San Diego College Tour.
